EDITING PROCESSES
The xFLOWer Cloud workflow system can be fully parameterized. Forming and modifying the processes – with the appropriate user rights – is possible on a graphic interface, hence there’s no need for programming to change workflows.
Imagine drawing a workflow with drawing application or on a sheet of paper – and this process immediately becomes available to and works for all your colleagues without any IT mumbo – jumbo or suppliers’ help. After editing the process in the Workflow editor, it will run in real time in the system, delegating tasks and monitoring results.
It might seem to be impossible, although it is true: imagine any process you possibly can, draw it in the Workflow Editor and see your process running in no time. For example, if you think that management of advance payments is too complicated, it takes about 20 minutes to draw the process diagram, edit the required forms and maybe the printable Word file, if needed. Click save, and that’s it – no need to worry about this process anymore! From this point employees only have to take care of requesting, leaders only need to care about approving and the financial department only needs to care about paying.
IT and business analysis functions are completely separated when using xFLOWer. Everyone can do the tasks they are competent with: IT shall manage the connections between systems and the process owner can implement the processes after drawing them in the Editor.
Templates and testing tools are available for process editing. Process steps can be automated by applying SOA architecture webservice layers, direct database connections or offline interface connections.
WHY WOULD I NEED A WORKFLOW EDITOR OR A PROCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?
A great number of business processes are not managed properly at most enterprises – non – existent, inappropriate, Excel – based, or email based steps are determining business operations, paving the road to chaos and welter. A workflow system is the way out of this catastrophe – the workflow editor is the enabler to the system to be implemented quickly and without further initial investment.
FAMILIAR BUSINESS PROBLEMS?
How you would like a business process running in your company. Yes, first just draw it on a sheet of paper, somehow like this:
TO MANY A0 SIZED SHEETS
Too little space on A4 sheets? Use A0 sheets, as our customers already tried!
THEN DRAW IT ON A COMPUTER
After that, draw it with a computer drawing tool you are familiar with or use Word, Excel or Visio. The result will look somehow like this:
ONLY ONE MORE STEP TO XFLOWER WORKFLOW EDITOR
If you can perform the above mentioned, you can learn the usage of xFLOWer Workflow Editor in a matter of hours – maximum!
No need to code, no need to know any of these words: sql, java, script, dotnet or webservice, no cursing involved!
It is the same as drawing processes in Visio without the fancy eye – candies – but the result is a working business process that runs immediately, and it’s checked by the software to operate as you imagined! No inoperable processes can be edited or saved in the xFLOWer Editor – the system checks the steps, intersections, and dependencies on the fly.
At the end, your processes will look like this:
And imagine that after clicking save, it all works, your colleagues receive their tasks based on this process, the completed tasks are visible in the case history in real time. When starting the process, a case is created – however, the trigger starting the case can be anything: manual start, e-mail, mobile app, sms or in many other ways.
MODEL COMPLICATED PROCESSES without limits!
There are different ways to display more complicated processes as follows:
DRAW A CLASSIC PROCESS DIAGRAM:
DIVIDE IT INTO BLOCKS:
EMBED IT HIERARCHICALLY:
DISPLAY IT AS A WEB:
It is not complicated, right?
Many other tools are related to the Workflow Editor of course:
All of these are so easy to use that the IT department or the supplier can be omitted completely from the development of processes.
Might seem incredible, yet it is completely true. We have customers where:
It goes without saying that there are many large organizations where xFLOWer is applied to manage extremely complicated processes. In such organizations dedicated, professionally trained process owner teams are responsible for such issues!
xFLOWer offers a great number of ready-made processes which can be applied immediately. However, should you feel that these – by the way best practise – processes are not fitting your business perfectly, you can easily edit them in the Editor as discussed above.
